Dear Friends:

There is one, and only one, reason why it's suddenly raining tonight in the Los Angeles area in the middle of May, a dry month: today, after weeks of putting it off, I finally washed my car.

Later I drove to a meeting, and of course on the way home it rained. It was dry where I live, so I parked, rinsed off the wet road grime and wiped down the car, then stepped inside my house to get a touch-up towel. When I returned, it was raining and my car was wet again.

I re-towelled it and hurried it into the garage. Since my car is still clean, it'll rain more tomorrow, and I'll come home and rinse-and-dry, which will cause more rain. Stay glued to your news channel: I may start a flood.

Jim
